Art Restoration
In the late 1840’s nearly every wall in the entrance and first floor rooms was lavishly decorated with garlands, goddesses, flowers. Some of it with gold leaf accents. The entry stair has a 10’ X 15’ mural of the bay of Naples. All of this art was painted over by Baltimore City, caretaker of the house in the 1930’s and forward. A team of restoration and conservation artists led by Thomas Moore Studios includes Matthew Mosca, historic finishes expert; Laurie Timms, art conservationist; Mark Mordhorst, creator of plaster moldings; and many others.
